Today is the Sabbath of all hard working laborers,
To rest the body and soul.
Today is the Sabbath of all hard working peoples,
To rest the body and savor the soul.
Today is the Sabbath of all Americans, nice or grouchy,
To rest the minds and bones.
Today is the Sabbath of all girls and boys,
To rest their critters and tiny behinds.
Today is the Sabbath of all men and women,
To rest their previous year’s promises and launch a New Year's.
